Marcus “MJ” Jayadevan

MJ grew up in Bloomington surrounded by binary code and biryani. The son of South Indian immigrants, he toggled between lunchbox curry and cafeteria pizza with equal parts curiosity and suspicion. He started writing food reviews in the margins of his high school calculus notes and hasn’t stopped since. After working in IT for nearly a decade, he made the full jump into food writing when he realized spreadsheeting could also apply to sandwich architecture. His work is methodical, hyper-detailed, and oddly moving. He’s known for quantifying gut feelings — literally. Whether he's graphing wing sauce viscosity or measuring the ratio of cheese to bun on a Juicy Lucy, MJ’s work somehow manages to be both nerdy and heartfelt.
